Linking out to ebooks and videos? Please read!

by Lindsey Freer -

A note to faculty:

LITS continues to make adjustments to Moodle following our August 20 upgrade. One of the challenges we are navigating is some changes to links for resources in our digital collections, including video and ebooks.

Please double-check your links to AVON, Docuseek, and other video databases, as well as your e-book links. If you find that they are not sending you directly to the resource, we recommend including that link in your course as a Text and Media area resource, or a Page resource, rather than a URL resource. That should resolve the issue.

Notably, we are also still resolving some issues with Kaltura and Quiz question banks post-upgrade. The Ed Tech team continues to work with our Moodle hosting vendor and others to resolve all of these issues.

If you encounter an unexpected error as you set up your course, or you have additional questions, please contact our team at edtech@mtholyoke.edu. Screenshots and documentation are appreciated, as they can help us provide as quick a resolution as possible. The team will be checking for new messages over the holiday weekend, as we launch Fall 2024.
